Thank you to Natalie Banks for supplying me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If I could rate this higher than 5 stars, I definitely would!
Very seldom do I find an author that is consistent for me. I have read all three of Natalie Banks’ books and each one is better than the one before. Out of the three, the Canary’s Song is my favorite. This book has a unique storyline, and just when I thought I had all the answers, another twist came in like a tidal wave. Ms. Banks brings her characters to life with real life situations. I could easily empathize with both the hero and the heroine. Both had their faults. but one couldn’t help but to root for their relationship.
Both Juliette and Liam had suffered tragedy and had hoped to rekindle their marriage and relationship in a secluded cabin in the mountains. Unfortunately, Juliette’s plans hit a stumbling block, which led to the majority of the plot. Knowing this little tidbit would spoil the book, and I will leave this for the reader to discover. Believe me, you will not be disappointed!
The plot does build, which I loved and carried many mixed emotions. I was frustrated, excited, happy, overjoyed, anxious, and times gripped my seat. I even had a couple of heart pounding experiences! Some of the tragedies were difficult to comprehend but not written in a disturbing manner. The ending could not have been written any better and left me breathless.
I love Ms. Banks’ writing style and her book cover choices. If you listen closely, you can hear all of the birds, insects, and even bears nestled in the Carolina mountains. A word of caution – be sure that you have enough time to read this in one sitting, because you will not want to stop!
What was left of Juliette Bennett’s life was in shambles. Losing her young son to a tragic accident had nearly driven her to the point of madness and now she was on the verge of losing her husband too. In a last ditch effort to save their marriage, she decided to book a romantic cabin vacation for just the two of them up in the mountains of North Carolina. She thought she had experienced the worst life could throw at her. Little did she know that the wilderness had in something else in store for her, when she finds herself left alone and fighting for her life.
