Thank you to Tantor Media for sending me this audio in exchange for a honest review.

This is the first installment in the Hidden Truth series, and I can’t wait to obtain book 2!  This is the first time I have read anything by this author.  Not only did the synopsis sound intriguing but the fact that Karen White is the narrator simply lured me to this book.  I have loved anything that Ms. White has narrated.  She is my favorite narrator for several reasons.  The characters simply pop, and her voice is incredibly soothing.

I couldn’t help but love both Rae and Brady.  The chemistry between the two was sizzling.  Even though they had not seen each other for years, both still cared for the other.  Brady would do anything for Rae.  Although heartbroken for what Rae must do to protect Brady, she did so out of love.  This was a page turning, chair gripping thriller that had me from the first word.  Not too many books have me reading/listening to a second installment shortly after the first, but this one sure does. Kudos to both the author and narrator for a job well done!

She married her enemy.

When investigative journalist Reagan McAdams discovers her new husband is part of an international crime family, she flees Paris with their newborn and returns to her childhood home in New Hampshire, where she’ll gather her inheritance before she disappears forever. She’ll do whatever it takes to protect her son from his criminal father.

He never quit loving her.

Brady Thomas discovers Rae is back and in trouble, and he’s going to protect her and her son, whether she wants his help or not.

The death toll rises.

But when Rae’s husband starts killing people to smoke her out, she has to decide what—and who—she’ll have to sacrifice to save her son.
