Hush Money

Thanks to Tantor Media for sending me this audio in exchange for a honest review.

While I enjoyed this storyline, I didn’t love it.  The performance of the audio also didn’t blow me away.  I enjoy mysteries and was actually surprised when the killer was revealed.  Sydney, the owner of a restaurant, fittingly called Hush Money.  Her mother left her 15 million dollars in exchange for not getting to know her daughter; although, her mother kept tabs on her without Sydney’s knowledge.  I am sure this is going to be an important fact in future installments.

Sydney recently hired a new server, Wendy, who was the mayor’s housekeeper and personal sex toy.  Wendy only “served” the mayor in order to have any money for her and her 5 year old daughter to live on.  Sydney knows a good person when she sees one and feels that Wendy is an innocent bystander.  The only problem with the scenario is that Wendy can’t remember anything.

Sydney and Wendy were both likeable.  However, Sydney was told numerous times not to mention the case and any findings to anyone.  However, she was constantly blabbing what she knew.  The storyline also ended abruptly, which is a pet peeve of mine.  I felt that there should have been a stronger conclusion. I am not sure if I will continue with this series or not.
