Simply Magic (Simply Quartet #3) by Mary Balogh

I really enjoyed the first half of this book, which was your typical historical romance.  Frankly, the second half of the book was boring, semi dark, and disturbing.  All the reader was able to focus on was the tragic death of the heroine’s father. I really didn’t care for either the heroine or the hero, who at times was very overbearing and obnoxious.  I do think that if the heroine’s story had been portrayed at the beginning of the book, I would have had more sympathy for her.  Once I found out what really happened (and was quite shocking), I felt bad for her and understood her aloofness.  Sadly, the resolution for me was just too little too late.

Thanks to Tantor Media for giving me this audio in exchange for an honest review.
