Narrated by Karen White
Thanks to Tantor Media for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review. Kudos to Ms. White for bringing the characters to life!
This is my first book by this author and certainly won’t be my last. My primary reason for requesting this book was due to the narrator. Karen White is my favorite narrator, and I would listen to anything from her. If I would have read this book, I would more than likely have rated the storyline less than 4 stars. Kudos to Ms. White for bringing the characters to life!
Five young adults end up sharing a magnificent house in New Jersey. I did find the living arrangements at Chapel House to be unrealistic. Given that there were two successful physicians, a married couple, an architect, and a public relations specialist in one house sharing everything. Kit returns to Chapel house and becomes best friends with Cole, an obstetrician. Everyone in the house sees the instant attraction between Kit and Cole. However, the two do not realize that they are more than best friends.
This book had twists, turns, and suspense, coupled with some romance. Kit and Cole took forever to kindle their relationship (over 70% in the book). The ending was a let down and felt too rushed for my taste. I would have preferred a slightly longer book in order to give the HEA its full course. I was surprised to learn that this was one of Ms. Chamberlain’s first books to be published.
