Drawn to You (Swanson Court #1) by Selena Grey

3.5 rounded to 4

Synopsis:

On the night she discovers her ex’s engagement, Rachel meets Landon, the most attractive man she has ever seen, who, for some reason, mistakes her for a hooker. However, he’s so sexy. And it’s just one night… What harm can there be in giving in to the desire to lose herself in his touch? She’s never going to see him again, even though he has given her the most intensely pleasurable night of her life.

Landon prefers his women beautiful and sophisticated, with no desire for commitment, so when his brother ignores his protests and sends him a hooker on his birthday, he’s surprised at how willing he is to continue paying for her services. It should be easy, except she’s no hooker, and she has no intention of letting him into her life.

However, as the billionaire owner of the Swanson Court hotels, Landon is used to getting what he wants, and Rachel is not going to be an exception.

Review:

This is my first book by Selena Grey, and it won’t be my last.  I enjoyed her writing, but felt the story was one that is not new.  Rachel Foster was holding out hope that her boyfriend felt the same as she did about him.  Sadly, the man who does not commit announced his engagement at a party that Rachel was attending.  Landon Court is a billionaire and assumes that Rachel is a hooker.  Rachel doesn’t correct him and decides that a one night stand might be all that she needs to forget Jack.

After their hot and steamy night, Rachel simply slips out without leaving any contact information.  Landon finds Rachel and ask her to fly to San Francisco with him to write an article on a new hotel of Landon’s.  Rachel willingly agrees and   somehow during their time in San Francisco falls in love with Landon who doesn’t ever do relationships or commitments.

I just couldn’t like Rachel or Landon.  There could have been more character building, such as more details on Landon’s nightmares.  Rachel obviously comes from a wealthy home but this is not mentioned.   I did like Rachel’s cousin and her boyfriend Brett.  This series does have potential, and I will continue reading to see how these couples fare.

This book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.
