By Jill Shalvis
This was my first book by Jill Shalvis and if this one is any indication of her writing, I am hooked. This is a very light romance read where three estranged sisters find themselves the proud owner of a dilapidated inn in Lucky Harbor.
Maddie (the primary character) has had a rough few months with the passing of her mother, losing her boyfriend (her choice), and her job (so not her choice). She is determined to restore the inn and make a new life for herself in Lucky Harbor. Always desiring a family, Maddie’s goal is to build a relationship with her half-sisters and establish residency in her new town. Unfortunately, her sisters simply want to sell the old inn and get out as far away from each other as possible.
Maddie meets Jax who the sisters have hired to help with the restoration in order to make the inn more marketable. There are happy moments between Maddie and Jax as they attempt to find out what each means to the other. The sisters play an integral role throughout this book. All of the characters had their own quirky personalities and were likeable. This was a comfort read, and I enjoyed getting to know Maddie, her sisters, and Jax. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
